Not Mars or Venus

I titled this painting “Not Mars or Venus” as a reflection on love and desire—but not in the way we typically associate them with these planets. Mars, with its fiery passion, and Venus, with its sensual allure, represent polarities in the human experience of love. This painting exists in the space between, exploring love and desire as something fluid, organic, and universal, rather than tethered to earthly metaphors or stereotypes.

Inspired by the idea of a faraway underwater planet, I imagined a world where love and desire take on a different form—one rooted in the interconnectedness of life. The flowing, organic shapes represent the bonds that tie all living things together, while the contrasting color dots give these forms a sense of movement and energy, as if they are pulsing with life. Love here is not just an emotion but a force of creation, and desire is seen in the way these shapes reach and expand, always in motion, always evolving.

The blue background sets the stage for this exploration, creating a calm, reflective space that allows the vibrant forms to take center stage. This painting is my attempt to reimagine love and desire beyond the confines of human relationships something primal, cosmic, and essential to life itself. It invites viewers to see these forces not as purely romantic or physical but as the foundation of connection, growth, and existence.
